Bio

Kelly Goins is your typical son of a preacher man.  Growing up playing strictly church music and sneaking in the secular artist when possible.  Kelly played in various garage bands with childhood friends and brothers.  At the age of 21 he headed to Northern California to try and get away from his past.  Over a year later, finding himself broke and broken, he headed back to Tennessee.  After rededicating his life back to God, Kelly began playing at a church. He had been out of the church for awhile and out of touch with their style of music, so coming in and playing at church was a challenge.  After spending time under the mentorship of Rhonda Davis, Kelly's love of worship music grew until his dreams of being a rock star were far in his past.  Kelly began to write worship songs and had a brief stint with the bands, "Michael and the Angels" and "Watergrave".  He decided to focus on worship music.  After about 12 years of writing and being involved in the worship music arena...his writing had come to a standstill.  "I found it a struggle to write the typical worship songs that we were hearing in church. . . . that's when God spoke to me to just begin to write about life... Feelings! Emotions! Struggles! and, that this was worship to Him."  Kelly began to write about things that the church would probably not consider "Christian" songs and, to be honest, they weren't.  There was enough Christian music out there that didn't deal with real life issues and feelings.  After this conversation with God, it was like a dam had broken and the songs began to pour again.  The songs from "Spectacular Failure" are just a sample of the writings that have come from the heart of Kelly.

Kelly and his wife, Denise, have four children, April, Kennedy, Sheridan, and Zion and live in Suwanee, GA.  Kelly is the Worship Pastor at Life Church International.  We hope you embrace the honesty and integrity in these songs.
